click for Wolf FormIt was times like these when Carson was thankful to be able to shove the little portable music holding device into some speakers that could sit right outside the sliding back door while Car jumped on the trampoline. Yes she was on the darn thing again because what else was she going to do? There was that option to watch TV, but that was so boring when she had the kind of energy she did. So instead she attempted things that no competition cheerleader would dream of doing. Ha, they'd be lucky to have someone like Car on their team. With the music turned down into background noise Carson landed things like a front tuck into a layout, and an ariel to a front tuck. She tried now a back handspring front tuck then back into a layout. She had the hand spring tuck but lost her balance and came down hard on her wrist after totally crashing the layout. She needed more jump, but there was nothing she could do now. Ow. She said holding her wrist. The pain wasn't bad but it was bad enough to consider it a fracture. Carson rolled her eyes frustrated at herself as she climbed off the trampoline and grabbed her ipod and speakers. Car went to the freezer and grabbed an ice pack and wrapped it in a towel as she glanced at the clock. It was 5:30 now so her wrist should be find by 6:30 at the latest. Carson sighed and checked her silver phone that was sitting on the counter. There was a pop up on the small screen saying that Cori was coming over for dinner. Carson nearly hit her head with her free hand when she realized she totally forgot about it. Great. Just as Car started cleaning up just a little the doorbell rang. "Come in!" She yelled from the kitchen as she wrapped headphones back around her ipod.

Cori was just putting on her white flip flops when she glanced over at the time. It was only 5:20 and she was actually running earlier then expected. With one more look in the mirror she curled the ends of her hair to get back her everyday look and was fine with the navy blue skirt and white tank top she wore. Her eyes danced toward the digital clock by her bed. it was now 5:27. Okay, so she wasn't late yet and that was a good thing.
Cori headed downstairs grabbing her beige bag and the keys to her purple VW Bug. No one was home at the Call house, so she felt no need to call out that she was leaving. Cori was the middle child, she had an older brother who was a part of the pack, and an younger brother who was a normal human (well for now at least). She got into the car and drove off to the Black's house. It wasn't usually rare to see her there, it was like a second home to actually. Tonight though she remembered telling Carson not to worry about dinner because she'd be happy to make something. Cori felt kind of bad for the kid in fact. She was young, not even old enough to drive. Her parents died and she was dealing with something most kids didn't have to. Now, Cori also felt bad for Jason at times too though. He was the one who was the head of the pack or whatever, had a 15 year old sister to take care of, as well as working so that he could afford to take care of her. So that's why Cori would volunteer to help out for them.
The two families had been friends for as long as they could remember. It was weird really how something like that could carry on and on, but she was glad it did. She pulled into the driveway and walked up to ring the doorbell.
"Come in!"
She heard the familiar voice call and Cori opened then door letting herself into the house that she knew just as well as her own. Cori walked into the kitchen seeing Carson wrapping a pair of headphones around an ipod. She also had an ice pack on her wrist and Cori just looked at it skeptically as she spoke. "You know, you shouldn't just let people come into your house." She said jokingly as she crossed her arms and shook her head. "What's with the ice pack, Car?" She asked unfolding her arms and setting her bag down on the counter.

click for Wolf Form"You know, you shouldn't just let people come into your house." Carson caught her joking tone and smiled as she walked the short distance to put her ipod on a shelf where mail usually went. She walked back to the higher part of the counter and sat at one of the bar stools as she took the ice pack off her wrist. "What's with the ice pack, Car?" Carson kept her eyes down for a second as she moved her wrist around a little. The pain was nearly gone it it didn't look funny, good, it healed right. "Oh, I just had a small fracture in my wrist. But it's healed now, see?" She said while moving her hand up and down after mentally concluding that she wouldn't lie to Cori. That wasn't worth lying for anyways. Things like breaking your leg behind your brothers back were worth lying for. It was a save yourself sort of situation in that case. Now Carson didn't feel the need to lie to Cori because really, what was Cori going to do? If it was something totally crazy she wouldn't tell Jason, would she? Well she hadn't yet so that had to count for something in Car's mind. Carson's hand reached across the counter as she snatched her phone to quickly check the time (not that it mattered anymore really). "Hey do you want help with dinner?" Car asked. Making dinner was a chore for her usually, and half the time she ate alone anyways. She never complained about it though because of obvious reasons. It was nights like these that she liked better though. When Cori would come and make dinner, it was nice not having to eat alone or cook.

Knowing where everything was a plus when it came to going over to the Black's house. Cori grabbed one of the flat pans that you see people making grilled cheese on on TV, a stick of butter, a loaf of bread, eggs, a whisk, milk, a spatula, and a glass bowl. As she worked on cracking the eggs Carson started speaking and Cori listened to her as if she was doing nothing.
"Oh, I just had a small fracture in my wrist. But it's healed now, see?"
Cori couldn't help but laugh a little and shake her head. Carson was always getting into trouble or getting hurt some how. It made Cori think about things for a second though. How Carson so casually said she fractured her wrist and how it had already healed! Even being around it, Cori never got used to things in the supernatural world that this family and her brother belonged to. In a sense, Cori was glad that the whole wolf thing didn't apply to her. It'd be to weird for her to be part wolf. Sure she had no problem with others with this... condition, but she was glad she didn't have to experience it first hand.
"Hey do you want help with dinner?"
It was times like these when Cori couldn't understand why Jason had such a problem with Carson. She was a sweet kid in Cori's eyes. Very polite, helpful, and she was easy to talk to. "No it's okay, I've got it." She said stirring the mixture of three eggs and a little milk in the bowl. She put the pan on the stove while a slice of bread was soaking in the mixture. When the bread was saturated in egg and milk it wen't on the pan. French Toast.

click for Wolf FormWhen Cori declined her offer Car shrugged and sat back in the chair as she watched Cori cook. Silence seemed to come between the two and Carson quickly got up and turned the TV on in the next room. She flipped the the channels to fast for the monitor to read to the point where Car gave up and put on the news. She walked back and sat down at and inhuman pace then listened to the reporter on the TV talk. 'In other news. Yet another person has gone missing. If you see a young boy with neck length light brown hair and blue eyes, last seen wearing a white t-shirt and jeans; please contact the police immediately.' The report made Carson sigh in frustration and pu her head down on the counter. Her hand curled into a fist and pounded on the top. It was a delayed reaction of the frustration. Another person missing was going to throw everyone into panic mode. The pack was already going for extra, longer shifts and worst of all her best friend was one of those who were missing. Lucy was not only Car's best friend but she was a shape shifter as well. Thats what made the situation so odd. Whatever was causing these people to go missing, it wasn't just human victims gone. "Jason's gunna flip about this" Car mumbled into the counter as she shook her head. Chaos in a small town and reservation had finally broken out... great.
